Coach Update

I have four quick updates for you:
1. National Seeding form is on line – every coach should fill this form over the next few days to make sure your team gets seeded properly. http://www.homeschoolbasketball.com/seeding-questionnaire

2. Omaha Regional Seeding Questionnaire – if your team is attending the Omaha Region please complete this form by Sunday night. http://www.homeschoolbasketball.com/omaha-ne

3. All-American (At Large) if your team is not attending a regional tournament please fill out the form to nominate your players. The password for the form is 2009 http://www.homeschoolbasketball.com/all-region-nomination-form

4. T-shirt Preorders will end at midnight this Friday night please spread the word.

National's Update 2-23-09

Hang on; the updates will be coming fast and furious. Let’s make a deal, I will promise not to write things that are not crucial to you enjoying the National’s experience and you agree to read whatever I write, sound reasonable?

Teams
We have updated the Master Team list – it looks like we are going to have more teams then we thought (yes we are scrambling to get enough gym space) It looks like 356 teams. Please check out the list and make sure your team is listed. http://www.homeschoolbasketball.com/registered-teams

New Teams
We have the following openings:
Girls 10U, Boys 14U, G16u, B16U, G18U, and B18U have 1-2 openings each. We have a waiting list on the other age divisions please call Kurt Talbott if you would like to add a team 1-417-880-4875.

Final Nominations for All American and All Region

All varsity coaches need to make final Nominations for All American and All Region Teams. These are the only nominations that will appear on the ballet. This is very important that you complete the nominations by 1/31/09. The reason we request that you make a final nomination is that we understand that some players may have stepped up, some stepped down and some stepped out. T-shirts

You may begin placing orders for Nationals T-shirts on line. There are two reasons for pre-ordering:
1. This will guarantee size and color you want (this year we will order very close to the preorder number and if you don’t preorder it is likely you will not be able to get your first choice).
2. FREE water bottle – preorders will receive a Nationals 2009 water bottle (details on website).

MaxPrep Boys Rankings Released

With victories over two top 20 6A public schools last weekend OKC Storm moved into the top 20 in Oklahoma and to the number 1 homeschool spot on MaxPrep.
North Atlanta debuts at #3. Tulsa NOAH, OKC Knights, Memphis Eagles and Austin Royals make their first appearance in the top ten.

48 Hours, 78 Days

It is hard to believe Nationals is just 78 days away, we are looking forward to seeing everyone in Springfield. If you haven't already completed your player registration you have 48 hours to get the early registration discount. Please make sure to spread the word at practice Monday. We have posted the family fundraising program on line. This is really a very easy and profitable program. Our goal is to help 100 families raise $60,000-$100,000 to help them attend Nationals this year. For more information

End Of Year Nationals Update

#1 Player Registration Discount

I had planned to send this letter last week to give everyone a one week warning on the early registration discount but in the midst of holiday travel just didn’t get it done. As a result we will extend the deadline for the early registration discount until Monday January 5th – if you pay on line the discount expires at midnight, or if you mail a check it must be postmarked on the 5th.

#2 Team Registrations

It continues to look like we will set a record for teams this year as we have gone over the 200 team mark in record time. Look who has registered and if your team is not registered encourage your coach to register as we will start filling up age groups within the next 30-45 days. Link

#3 Family Fundraising

The economy is putting financial strain on quite a few families. The fundraising program that is in place can be used for families to earn $500-2000 to attend nationals for more information. Fill out Contact form on website

#4 Hardship Exemptions

I want to clarify that our goal in the hardships is only to put controls in place not to limit players. We have had a lot of hardship exemption request for players that attend co-op three days a week but are still 51% homeschooled and this is not a problem.
